Clypheus

Clypheus was an Ancient, forged on Core with the aid of the Angels in order to protect the universe from the Demonic threat. Clypheus was sent to the north of The Kingdom of Corgath in order to protect it, and spent most of his time near Kaldrefell. He had four arms which were equipped with pointed shields, which he could use for offense and defense.

The Protector's Death #

Clypheus was tragically slain while defending Kaldrefell from the demon Baal and his armies. He became overwhelmed with the hoard, as they swarmed the village. While dueling against Baal, he briefly turned his attention to a swarm of imps attacking civilians. Taking advantage of this, Baal plunged his spear into the ancient's chest, landing the killing blow. Kaldrefell was lost, and so was much of the north.

A memorial for Clypheus, and for the fallen, was made. This memorial was called Traustendlat.

Clypheus Reborn, in Evil #

In 275 DHT, the Dark Lord Pitch travelled with Silvaar Darkthorn to Traustendlat in search of imps, undead, and even Clypheus himself for his army. When his adversaries, the Heroes of Nokkville (mostly Theodore Perry) disrupted him, Pitch animated Clypheus to life with demonic magic, so that he could escape.

Clypheus, in his new form, was puppeteered by dark necromantic magic. His severed limbs and wounded chest were joined by a malign magenta energy. He fought with two hands, with his other two protecting his weakpoint. Firen noticed this, and strategically dispelled the magic at his limbs, disarming Clypheus in a literal sense. Then Red, grown to enormous size with the aid of Theo, struck down Clypheus with a spear to the chest, just as he had fallen before.

Clypheus' remains were returned to Traustandlat (mostly) to rest once more.
